Now in its 12th year, the Oklahoma Supercomputing Symposium is the only annual event of its kind in the Great Plains region.

Attendance in 2012 was 261:

  • 99 (38%) from OU, 162 (62%) non-OU (or unstated)
  • 200 (77%) academic, 61 (23%) non-academic (or unstated)
    • 26 academic institutions in 7 states
    • 22 commercial firms
    • 8 government agencies (federal and state)
    • 4 non-governmental organizations
  • 180 (69%) Oklahoman, 81 (31%) non-Oklahoman (or unstated)
  • 211 (81%) from EPSCoR jurisdictions, 50 (19%) not from EPSCoR jurisdictions (or unstated)

The 11 Symposia to date have had aggregate attendance over 2500, from:

  • 101 academic institutions from 27 US states and territories
    including
    61 academic institutions from 14 EPSCoR jurisdictions
  • 119 private companies
  • 35 government agencies (federal, state, municipal, foreign)
  • 17 non-governmental organizations
